As an answer to the effort involved in producing and maintaining orthographic documents from 3D models, 3DS Net, Inc created OrthoGen in 1996. This product consists of our batch automatic annotation and hidden line removal software that automates the production of Equipment, Piping, Instrument/Electrical and Structural drawings from PDS models.
Early 3D Model projects soon learned they could spend more time keeping drawings current than modeling. One at a time pick and label commands take too long.
With OrthoGen on PDS projects you can, at any time, quickly produce an accurate and consistent set of orthographic documents. Using the detail level settings, you can produce detailed drawings to be used for checking or use other options to produce drawings that meet minimum delivery requirements.
